Biography
The Rev. Barbara Meyers is a Unitarian Universalist Community Minister endorsed by the Mission Peak Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Fremont, CA. Her ministry focuses on mental health issues and includes educational, healing, social justice and priestly functions. She works at a peer-run mental health drop-in center in Fremont, she produces a monthly show on public access television that focuses on mental health issues, and she has written a curriculum the Caring Congregation Handbook. The UUA awarded her a grant to take the Caring Congregation program to other districts in the UUA. Barbara graduated from Starr King School for the Ministry in 2004 and was ordained in 2005, after working as a computer software engineer at IBM for 25 years. She has earned a certificate in Spiritual Direction from the Chaplaincy Institute.
