“WALKING THE RAINBOW PATH:
Celebrating All the Colors of Love...”
…is a foundational curriculum for K-3. The Rainbow Path is a developmentally appropriate metaphor that gives children a way to grasp what it means to be UU. “Walking the Rainbow Path: Celebrating All the Colors of Love” expands the metaphor and draws children Into the spiritual practice of living their faith In everyday life. This curriculum gives children tools to build the framework of a belief system; it offers images, stories, experiences and language to help them name and celebrate their own spiritual truth. It is faith formation for our 5-8 year olds.
“Walking the Rainbow Path” can be used in any RE model: in the “pillars” model, it covers UU Identity; its many learning and play opportunities are suited to “Way Cool Sunday school,” and it easily fits in a traditional RE program.
The curriculum has 28 lessons and an appendix that Includes worship resources.
“We had a wonderful year with “Walking the Rainbow Path!” The kids loved it; the parents loved it; the teachers loved It! The activities were fun, inexpensive, allowed for incredible discussion, and provided for many learning styles. We couldn’t be happier! (Susan Ryder, DRE, UU Society of Oneonta, NY)
“As a parent, the whole language of “Walking the Rainbow Path” creates a daily, common language for our family to live our UU values and to grow together. As an RE teacher, I loved witnessing the children go deeper and deeper in their understanding ... There are so many terrific ways in this curriculum for children to keep building on their experience.”
