Roberta Altamari is a homeschooling mom of 2 daughters, and began as the Director of Religious Education at the First Parish of Watertown, MA in 2003 and is stepping up to full-time work at First Parish of Sudbury, MA in 2008. She has also been on the volunteer staff for Different Drummers, a camp for middle-schoolers at Ferry Beach. She has her Bachelor's degree majoring in developmental psychology from Suffolk University in 1991. She has worked supporting adults with developmental disabilities, leading music and movement programs for young children, writing as monthly columnist for the Watertown Tab, and illustrating the song books for Family Music Makers. |

Charlene Brotman, a grade school teacher and religious educator, wrote her first curriculum when she became concerned about the beliefs her young daughter was picking up about the Bible, and it was published as "Focus on Noah". She collaborated with DREs Ann Fields and Barbara Marshman, with Charlene researching and writing, Barbara doing the art, Ann editing and articulating the philosophy. Together they envisioned a children's book based on the 7th Principle, a book to nurture a sense of wonder. Neither Barbara nor Ann lived to develop the book, but Charlene has just published it: "The Kids' Book of Awesome Stuff". A Leader's Guide will follow. |

Gaia Brown has been a religious educator since 1975, serving congregations in New Jersey and Illinois. She currently lives in Reno, NV, where she looks at the mountains and writes curricula (hence the "Mountaingate Curricula" for her growing list of titles). Gaia's philosophy of religious education is grounded in the work of Sophia Fahs, especially the idea that children are inherently spiritual. One of Gaia's goals is to write curricula that support teachers, so that they are best able to have successful experiences with the children. Gaia is also available to lead several Renaissance Modules. |

In October 2007 she achieved the status of Credentialed Religious Educator. Cathy has been a grassroots organizer and graphic artist where she gained strength working in community. Kate Tweedie Covey has been a Director of Religious Education in the Unitarian Universalist denomination since 1984. She has served a large RE Program, with over 350 children and teens. She currently serves the Boulder Valley UU Fellowship, Lafayette, CO, a program with 175 children and teens. Katie is a lifelong UU and grew up in churches and fellowships around the nation, including Devon, PA, Charleston, W.VA, Claremont, CA, and Midland, MI. She is also an author for the UUA Core Curriculum project, a leader and trainer for the UU Identity and Curriculum Modules of the UUA Renaissance Program, and is active in the Liberal Religious Educators Assn (LREDA). She has her M.Ed. in Child Study from Tufts University and B.A. from Connecticut College. She is closely supervised by her Border Collie, Captain. Her sons, 25 and 27, keep her from being an old fogie too much of the time. |

Melanie Davis has been a communications consultant since 1984 and a sex educator since 1999. Through her firm, Honest Exchange, LLC, she delivers workshops for teens and adults on topics including sexuality, communication skills, self esteem, and affirmative self-talk. She is a UU sex educator and presents guest sermons on self affirmation. Connie Dunn is the Director of Religious Education at Hopedale Unitarian Parish, a Unitarian Universalist congregation in Hopedale, Massachusetts, where she performs original stories for the children, youth and adults during the Time for All Ages time in the church service. Tirrell and Rick Kimball have developed Unitarian Universalist curriculum for over 20 years. Tirrell was Director of Religious Education at Allen Avenue Unitarian Universalist Church for 26 years. She received the UUA's Angus McLean Award for Excellence in Religious Education in 2003. Rick has worked as a journalist, as the editor-in-chief of a publisher producing supplemental materials for public and private schools, and as a freelance writer, editor and photographer. He has authored children's books, books about creativity, and local history, as well as Our Whole Lives: Sexuality Education for Adults. Tirrell and Rick have together led creativity workshops for various churches and groups, and have also been leaders for About Your Sexuality and Our Whole Lives- 7-9. The Rev. Barbara Meyers is a Unitarian Universalist Community Minister endorsed by the Mission Peak Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Fremont, CA. Her ministry focuses on mental health issues and includes educational, healing, social justice and priestly functions. She works at a peer-run mental health drop-in center in Fremont, she produces a monthly show on public access television that focuses on mental health issues, and she has written a curriculum the Caring Congregation Handbook. The UUA awarded her a grant to take the Caring Congregation program to other districts in the UUA. Barbara graduated from Starr King School for the Ministry in 2004 and was ordained in 2005, after working as a computer software engineer at IBM for 25 years.

She is the author of the primary grades curriculum "What is Religion - For Others and For Us?" This curriculum exemplifies her interest in promoting conversations about religion itself, about God, prayer and worship, as areas of children's explicit curiosity and the reason most of them attend our. R.E. programs. She has more recently published the reference book "Which Lesson? The Church of the Larger Fellowship is the largest congregation in the UUA, serving some 3000 members around the world primarily via the internet. Some of the CLF's many resources are available free to all, while some services and resources, including our CLiF Notes curriculum and searchable Index of RE Resources are only available to CLF members and to subscribers to the RE Express Plus package of religious education resources. Lynn Ungar is the CLF's minister for lifespan learning. A UU minister for over 15 years, she also holds a Doctor of Ministry degree in religious education. Cyber-commuting from California to the CLF in Boston, Lynn writes CLiF Notes: A Curriculum for Families and Small Groups; creates the monthly KidTalk Web page for children, parents and religious educators; writes the REsources for Living column in the CLF's monthly print publication, Quest, and organizes online classes and internet-based small groups. Kathy McDaniel has been involved in RE at the UU Church of Tucson in various capacities including elementary teacher and committee Chair of the RECouncil, Summer Program and (currently) Curriculum Committees. Her two curricula were developed and used at UUCT for a total of seven summers. John Shepard has been involved in RE at the UU Church of Tucson as a middle school advisor and member of the Curriculum Committee. He developed the Create a Country simulation out of a desire to offer a more participatory and socially relevant learning environment for middle school youth. |

UU Women and Religion Committee of the UUA has led in transforming Unitarian Universalism toward greater inclusiveness and gender equality. At the same time Women & Religion groups formed, particularly at the district level, and began holding significant programs and retreats. These gatherings continue to nurture and support UU women today. In addition, UUW&R publishes curricula. |
