Biography

Dr. Nita Penfold served two Unitarian Universalist congregations as Director of Religious Education for 16 years. She received her Doctorate in Ministry from UCS (Matthew Fox's Wisdom School, CA) in 2002 and is certified as both a Montessori and Godly Play teacher. She is an adjunct faculty at Andover Newton Theological School, leads spirituality and arts workshops for all ages, and conducts Spirit Play trainings nationwide.

She co-developed the Spirit Play method with Rev. Ralph Roberts and Beverly Leute Bruce through grants from the Unitarian Sunday School Society. Nita is a published poet and editor of Hunger Enough: Living Spiritually a Consumer Society (Pudding House Publications - www.puddinghouse.com) and an exhibiting mixed media artist.
